Project Executive
Columbus, Ohio
A premier Midwest building materials distributor is seeking a Project Executive based in the Cincinnati-Columbus, Ohio corridor. This role will oversee multiple active projects, project managers, and field teams to drive scalability, financial performance, and consistent delivery across the growing Construction Services division. The Project Executive provides executive-level oversight for framing, exterior envelope, and multifamily/large-scale residential projects. You will modernize operational structures, manage key builder relationships, and lead growing teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Project Oversight
Lead Operations: Oversee multiple active projects, monitoring schedules, manpower, and safety.
Scale the Division: Standardize operational processes, reporting, and communication to support growth.
Manage Teams: Guide and support Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel to resolve complex issues.
Financial & Relationship Management
Financial Accountability: Manage budgets, forecasting, margin protection, and cost controls to maximize profitability.
Client Relations: Act as the senior point of contact for builders and developers, ensuring customer retention and project success.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with estimating and preconstruction for seamless project handoffs, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of construction operations leadership managing multiple projects and project managers simultaneously.
Sector Expertise: Strong background in framing, exterior envelope, multifamily, or large-scale residential construction (self-perform/installed services preferred).
Skills: Proven ability to scale operations, manage construction finances/budgets, and build strong professional relationships.
Traits: Entrepreneurial mindset with exceptional leadership and communication skills.
