Position Overview

The Production Manager will lead all day-to-day manufacturing operations within a high-volume production facility. This individual will be responsible for driving operational performance, improving product flow, implementing Lean manufacturing initiatives, developing production teams, and ensuring production schedules, quality, safety, and inventory objectives are consistently achieved. This is a highly visible leadership role with the autonomy to make a measurable impact on the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and delivery timelines are achieved.
  • Develop, coach, and lead production supervisors and manufacturing employees while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles, including Kaizen and 5S, to improve workflow, efficiency, and operating utilization.
  • Partner with purchasing and inventory teams to maintain appropriate raw material and finished goods inventory levels.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to optimize labor, materials, machine utilization, and production planning.
  • Analyze production metrics and implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, inventory, and leadership teams to support long-term manufacturing goals.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a production environment.
  • Proven success leading high-volume manufacturing teams and driving operational improvements.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory management, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a hands-on management style.
  • Building products, wood products, cabinetry, millwork, fencing, or related manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
