Our client, is a premier, family-owned contract glazing and architectural openings organization operating a high-volume facility in the regional market. The operation includes a robust fabrication and assembly facility, an extensive inventory warehouse, expert finishing capabilities, and dedicated delivery teams. Backed by decades of localized success and a commitment to utilizing top-tier manufacturing lines, they provide a full-service, seamless experience from estimation to final installation.

The Role

The Plant Manager / General Manager will oversee all day-to-day operations for a large, complex fiberglass door manufacturing and assembly facility. This individual will have comprehensive P&L ownership, managing shop budgets, labor costs, operational expenses, and material yields to maximize profitability. Reporting to senior leadership, this hands-on leader will manage cross-functional teams across production, warehousing, finishing, assembly, and delivery.

Operations strength and disciplined execution are critical; the role requires a leader with strong financial acumen who can establish KPIs, enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), and drive continuous improvement initiatives without losing operational control. This individual will also act as a vital bridge between the plant and the corporate office, working closely with sales, project management, and customer service while providing regular performance reporting to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily plant operations, optimize production workflows, manage preventive maintenance for equipment, and scale capacity to support future growth and automation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead workforce planning, hiring, training, coaching, and performance management for all shop personnel while fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Supply Chain & Quality Control: Manage inventory levels (doors, glass, hardware, paint, stains), coordinate vendor relationships, and enforce strict quality control standards to comply with building codes and customer specifications.
  • Safety & Compliance: Champion a zero-incident culture by ensuring strict compliance with all OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Base salary range of $125,000 – $150,000
  • Performance-based plant incentive program
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision
