Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Store Manager to lead their top location. This pivotal role involves comprehensive oversight of daily operations, inventory management, merchandising, and ensuring exceptional customer and employee experiences. The ideal candidate will embody an ownership mindset, proactively addressing operational needs and contributing significantly to the business’s stability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring efficient functioning and a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Support ownership as needed, in all managerial duties, making critical decisions and taking initiative as needed.
- Oversee inventory, including computerized ordering and drop-ship buying, to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, from store cleanliness to product “outs,” demonstrating a strong sense of ownership.
- Handle personnel matters and foster a positive, supportive work environment in line with the company’s culture.
- Assist with the service department, including assessing equipment for repair and warranty work.
- Ensure that merchandise is properly displayed and maintained, contributing to an inviting store environment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Candidates MUST have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the retail hardware sector, with a background in management.
- Demonstrated passion for the hardware business and a genuine commitment to employee and customer care.
- A proactive, adaptable, and smart individual who can take initiative and make independent decisions.
- Proficiency in inventory management, including experience with computerized ordering systems and dropship purchasing.
- Knowledge of power equipment sales/service (Toro, Stihl, Ariens, EGO) and/or Benjamin Moore paint sales is highly desirable.
- Ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment that values personal connection over corporate rigidity.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary range of $80,000–$100,000.
