Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to spearhead project execution. This remote, field-based role will be instrumental in taking ownership of projects post-sale, ensuring seamless coordination, accurate installations, and timely closeouts. The Project Manager will be responsible for interpreting drawings, managing logistics, coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders, and driving projects to successful completion within a 60-90 day timeframe. This position requires extensive travel and reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of multiple commercial food service installation projects, from order handoff to final customer sign-off.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications, accounting for precise measurements and construction site variables (e.g., wall flashings, tile thickness, gaps).
- Coordinate all project logistics, including installer scheduling, equipment delivery, and site preparation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, installers, and internal teams (estimating, sales, operations) throughout the project.
- Proactively identify and resolve project-related issues to maintain timelines and budgets.
- Ensure projects are closed out efficiently and accurately, minimizing punch list items and facilitating timely billing.
- Travel extensively (50%+), including regular overnight stays (1-2 times per week), to project sites across the country, primarily in the Eastern US.
- Optimize project processes to improve efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven project management experience, with a strong understanding of construction site workflows and technical drawing interpretation.
- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously with quick turnover times (30-90 days).
- Exceptional coordination and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to undertake significant travel, often requiring overnight stays.
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience in the commercial food service equipment industry or with government contracts (K-12, higher education, public-funded facilities) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with NetSuite and AutoQuotes is a plus.
- Based remotely, ideally in the South Carolina area.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $115,000 – $140,000, with potential for additional compensation based on cost-saving initiatives.
- Team bonus eligibility based on operational efficiency and successful project completion.
- Comprehensive benefits package including 401k with up to 4% match, health, and dental insurance.
- Mileage reimbursement, covered hotel expenses, and provided work equipment (laptop and phone).
- Opportunity to be a foundational member of a growing department and make a direct impact on business operations.
