Our client is a well-established company specializing in the distribution and installation of various types of doors, including sectional, roll-up sheet, and rolling steel doors. Operating with a central hub and two distribution centers, the company is committed to enhancing its operational efficiency and strategic capabilities. This role is integral to the company’s core business, focusing on the management of warehousing and transportation to ensure robust execution and improved performance across all locations.

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an Operations Manager to provide strategic leadership and hands-on management for warehousing and transportation functions at its Norcross hub and satellite distribution centers in Marietta and McDonough. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, optimizing warehouse layouts, and ensuring the efficient execution of all logistics activities. The Operations Manager will be responsible for a broad range of activities, including receiving, order fulfillment, loading, shipping, inventory management, and production. This position requires a proactive leader who can initiate and manage change effectively, with a significant presence on the operational floor (70%) and strategic involvement in office-based planning (30%). The role reports to the General Manager and maintains a dotted-line relationship with the VP of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute strategic initiatives to improve warehouse layouts and overall operational efficiency across all locations.
• Manage and optimize all aspects of warehousing and transportation, including inbound and outbound logistics, inventory control, and production support.
• Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as labor expense, overtime, order accuracy, and fulfillment times, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
• Collaborate closely with the General Manager and VP of Operations to develop and implement operational strategies.
• Supervise and develop a team of approximately 30 operational staff, including warehouse and assistant warehouse managers.
• Regularly travel to the Marietta and McDonough DCs (at least bi-weekly) to oversee operations and provide support.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary ranging from $140,000 to $150,000.
