How to Write a Good Want-Ad

Posted on May 17, 2017

One of the most important things about writing a good want-ad to a potential employee or candidate is getting into the mind of those people. Time is a very valuable thing to working professionals, so keep your ad short, sweet, and to the point. You don’t need to give them every detail about your company and the job in the one ad. Leave them with questions and give them a reason to call you; “I saw your ad and was wondering more about what the job entails,” or “I’m interested in your job opportunity, what is the compensation?” Get them on the phone talking about their story, their background, etc. It’s easy to get a better idea of them and if they would be a good candidate and cultural fit in your company.
